A Collaborative Google Map of #bikeLA 's Favorite Cycling Destinations

After exchanging some tweets with @thedudeabides last night about one of L.A.'s hidden gems, and a personal favorite riding destination, we thought it'd be a great idea to create a Google Map to share some of L.A.'s other more interesting and peculiar biking destinations.

Call it local tourism, there's no better way to see your city than by bike. For the urban explorers out there, every ride is a new adventure. I'm constantly being introduced to hidden gems around the city and would love to find more.

Google Maps are a fun and collaborative way for every rider to chip in and share their own favorite bikey destinations. Anyone with a google account can edit.

Here's the map:

To add a destination:

Log into Google and click "edit".

Then, drag a placemark ("Add a Placemark") to your destination.

Including a description is a must, and adding a photo, video or link is a plus. (Use the "Edit HTML" tab to add text, links and embed codes)

When you're done, click "Save".

Share this map on Twitter, Facebook or elsewhere when you've added a destination, and include the tag #bikeLA.

I'd love to see similar maps in other cities around the world. If you create one, be sure to include your city's hashtag. Send a tweet to @bikecommutenews or email to let us know and we'll share.
